HOT OFF THE PRESS | NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2023N |
Struggling through unanticipated technical challenges, on November 18, 2023, I presented at the LU Board of Trustees Meeting. I spoke about the 3 Ps that will be the ingredients to our success: People, Power, and Participation. Click on the photo above to see the presentation or you can read it here.
The message focused on PEOPLE -- our two new Alumni Trustees, Drs. Rodney Ridley ‘87 and Tiffany Harrison ‘08 and the wonderful time we had at Homecoming including at the AALU-sponsored tailgate tent; POWER -- our $45,000 gift to Lincoln as a result of the 2023 Annual Golf Tournament; and PARTICIPATION -- Alumni support of the young Lions known as the Freedom 14 on the 66-mile trek from LU to Harrisburg (they also presented at the BOT meeting). Finally, I announced the four candidates for the role of Alumni Trustee Nominee: 1) Lorella Dicks ‘80, Baltimore Metro Chapter; 2) George McGriff ‘86, Philadelphia Chapter; 3) Bill McIntyre ‘94 DC Metro Chapter and 4) Fred Sinclair, ‘85 Philadelphia Chapter. Hail, hail Lincoln!! Charisse Carney-Nunes, JD/MPA '88 |
Congratulations to Ron Walker '68 on his retirement after a exemplary career dedicated to the uplift of boys and young men of color providing them opportunities to soar to success in school, career, and in life. Lincoln University alumni, Kappa fraternity brothers, and friends who believe in the mission gathered on October 21, 2023 at the Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz & Performing Arts to salute Ron Walker for his achievements. National Executive Committee member, Tawana Frink '91, represented the AALU at the event, which was full of LU music, appreciation, and a lot of love and admiration. (Click to see photos from the event). Congratulations to the Mayor-elect of the City of Philadelphia | We are so proud |
Thank you to all who have generously donated to The Lincoln Lion Fund We have achieved Phase One, and are working with University officials to move the Lion to Lincoln! Alums: there is still time to be a part of this once-in-a-generation opportunity to leave a permanent imprint on the Lincoln legacy. We still need donations to develop the site and install the Lion and legacy bricks. Donations of $500 or more ensures your name will be enshrined on a brick. (Donations count toward LU annual giving) |
Save the date - June 2025 Thank you so much for your responses for the AALU International Trip Survey! We are excited to share that the planning for an Adult Only, All Inclusive Resort in Jamaica is officially underway! Resort and Dates TBA. Once the AALU Executive Committee designates the resort and dates, the booking details and other pertinent information will be sent out to everyone.
